The Lost Art of Walking
If you’re like most people today, chances are you see more of your surroundings from a car than from a sidewalk. But something happens when you decide to strike out on foot. You see more. More detail, more character, more people. You start to form a true relationship with a place when you just wander, and let yourself answer the question, “What’s just around the next bend?”
Of course, it helps if you have a great place to walk. As it happens, Laurel will be just that. With Laurel trees and trellises providing shade throughout the community, and paving materials chosen to reduce the absorption of heat, you’ll be able to enjoy Arizona’s climate all year long.
Each neighborhood will be worth exploring, too. Quiet, single-family residential streets lead to the active daily life of the Village Center, which is the beating heart of the community. From there, a walk to the Farmstead brings you back to Laurel’s agricultural roots, as you watch farmers pick the produce they’ll sell at the farm stand this afternoon. Civic buildings like the church and the charming hotel greet you throughout your walk, while parks and open spaces welcome you like a neighborhood family room.
